Every Day is an Opportunity...

Take yourself into unknown places. Discover a new way of doing things. Don't be a prisoner of your past. Everyday is an opportunity to become the person you want to be.
 - in an email from the Kabalah Center, Atlanta GA

The new moon in Capricorn that began at 11:11 last night in Californa (Pacific Time) - Universal Time 07:11 this morning - gives us an energetic portal to start fresh... to rebuild our lives from the ground up... in order to fulfill our life purpose.

It's time to regroup. It's time to go within - into the solitude - and rediscover who we really are.... and who we want to be.

Here are some questions to ponder from the New Moon Telegathering last night...
  1. What are you passionate about? What really gets your juices flowing?
  2. What feeds your soul and makes you feel alive?
  3. What role were you born to play at this moment and at this time in history? How are you here to serve?
  4. What are you holding on to that keeps you from stepping out and BEing who you came here to be?
  5. Where do you need to step out of your comfort zone so that you can make the changes you know will transform your life?
  6. What inside you is crying to be born?
  7. What are the structures in your life that are no longer working for you?
  8. What do you know you absolutely need to let go of?
  9. Where do you want to be in your life, your business, your relationships, or your career this time next month? By this time next year?
  10. What is one thing you can do right now to move you forward?
Here's to continuing the Journey... having the courage to let go of the past.... and step into BEing the person you want to be.

I'm on a Mission...

This morning I had an epiphany.....

When I was working in Corporate America, I used to say "I'm on a mission!" whenever I was involved in solving a customer problem or researching an answer to a question.

It meant.... "I'm running full-steam ahead... Stand aside! I'm bound and determined to get this solved."

There's been a lot of talk in the coaching world about "what's your theme" for this decade. As I wrote in my January ezine issue (TIPs for the Journey) several days ago, this year will be my year to Step Up and Step Out - Step Up and embrace my life purpose, and Step Out of my comfort zone so that I can show up in a bigger way. There are some goals that I want to achieve that I've (obviously) just been giving "lip service" to (since they're not part of my reality yet).

The main one is more like a "life purpose" - something I have known and felt since my late 20's.

I was thinking about all this this morning when it "hit me"....

"Becky, you're 51 years old.... It's time to BE and Do what you know you're here to do! The rehearsal's over. Quit making excuses. Get out of overwhelm - your favorite self-sabotage technique - Stop wondering why you haven't reached the success you wanted..... It ain't happening because YOU'RE not happening! Step up to the plate and GO for it. It's now or never, girl."

So.... Stand aside! all you "issues' that I've let hold me back! You're not keeping me playing small any more. I'm on a mission.... I am determined to BE what I came here to be and Do what I came here to do.

This is the year for Becky to step up and step out and LIVE her Purpose - 100% - full steam ahead!

Here's to continuing the Journey.... reconnecting with that inner calling..... and going for it with purpose and passion!

You See What You Expect

The old adage, "Seeing is believing," which implies that we must rely on the physical sense of sight to verify that something is true, is being replaced by "when you believe it, you'll see it" (or as Wyne Dyer titled his book, "You See It When You Believe It."

Last night I experienced this phenomenon first hand....

My husband and I were downstairs in the den - he was at standing by his desk (which is in the corner directly away from the back door) and I was sitting on the couch (on the opposite side of the room). I left the room for a few minutes to go upstairs. Then came back.

While I was gone, I heard him rattling around. When I came back down, I expected to see him by the backdoor (getting ready or just coming back from smoking outside) or standing/sitting at his desk. My eyes check both places as I came down the stairs. He was not at either.

So I called out, " Are you there?" (sometimes it's hard to see him sitting at his desk, when you first come down the stairs as there are shelves and a ficus tree in front of the desk.)

When he answered, "Yes" and then got up out of the chair I was standing next to, I jumped about 3 feet off the ground. (The chair is one of the first things you "see" when you come into the room from the stairs.)

It was pretty freaky - and amazing that I just completely looked over (through?) him.

But it's a perfect example of.... you see what you expect.

It made me wonder.... what else am I not "seeing" that's right in front of me?

And taking that deeper.... what "beliefs" might be holding me back from "seeing" my potential .... or might be keeping me from creating and achieving my heart's desires?

"What the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve."
- Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich

Here's to continuing the Journey.... believing.... and seeing.... clearing the way for possibilities to become reality.
